 2. MUSEUM KG PARIT BUGIS/HOMESTAY KG PARIT BUGIS/ KERATON EMBAH ANANG

We also spent some time visiting Keraton Embah Anang, or also known by locals as 'rumah atuk'. It is one of the attractions you can find in this village.

This house become the attraction place everytime by way from Johor Bahru to Muar and become view focused on this house located at Km 19 of Parit Pecah Muar. Indeed, this home design is very unique. Through a people talked that house is often visited by many tourists as its uniqueness is built from diamonds without using a single nail.

The house was built about 100 years ago by Tahir bin Daeng Mustapha. He is said to be from the descendants of the King of Bugis. The house is known as 'Saroja' or 'Balla Lompo' or 'Bollo Lopo'. In Bugis, 'Bolla' means home and 'Lopo' means big. All wood used to make this house come from Kalimantan Indonesia. Diamonds are said to be better when sunbathing. The more heat gets stronger!

Around on the house

In this Bugis custom house there are some space. At the front of the house there is a space called 'Tamping' which is used to welcome guests. Inside the housewife, there is a set of dining tables that are contemporary to this house. The carvings on the doors and windows are still original and preserved. All these engravings are made by hand. At the back there is a central room of the house and a "child's arm" room. The middle room of the house is for household use.

In addition there is a loft in this room. In the old days, when a girl was engaged, the girl was required to stay in the attic until the wedding day. Eating, bathing and so on are delivered to the attic. Over the attic there are many old items kept since the grandfather and grandmother's time.

On the roof of this house there is a stick called "sky show". While at the edge of the corner of the foot of the roof there is a wood carving shape called "Salu Bayang". This carving represents the illustration of a snake or dragon who is supposed to be the guardian of this house. All the beautiful carvings on the walls of the house, the windows, the door of the room wall and the roof of the roof are the carving of a skillful carpenter from Sulawesi.
